Luminar is different.

Just like you.

Adaptive interface that
inspires you to do more.

While other photo editors make you adapt to their interface, Luminar adapts to your skill level. There is no need to face dozens of sliders if you simply want to remove an object or apply a preset. But if you do need to perform some serious tasks, you’ll easily access all the advanced features.

Enjoy using only the tools you need and the features you actually use for your photography.

Powerful tools that
allow you to do more.

The new Luminar for Mac lets you remove unwanted objects, color casts and digital noise. It helps you retouch skin and reveals the hidden details in your photos. It features layers with blend modes, texture overlays and powerful masking.

Luminar lets you edit upper and lower sections of the image without having to make any selections. It includes selective color controls, cross process filters and so much more!

Advanced features

A whole new approach to
professional photo editing.

Luminar combines all kinds of pro-level photo tools in one package. It brings layers, luminosity masks, radial and gradient masking, histogram, blend modes, brushes for selective editing, color mixer, split toning and a lot more.

Even if you’re not familiar with these tools now, you can start using Luminar right away. And all the tools will always be available for you to use as you grow as a photographer.

State-of-the-art digital
darkroom you design

The workspaces in Luminar reveal only the most essential photo filters for the specific type of photo. Enjoy default workspaces for landscape, portrait, street and B&W images. Or create your own, based on your preferences. Even import workspaces from other artists, who use Luminar.

  • What is the difference between Luminar and Creative Kit?

Luminar was created to become a one-stop solution for a wide range of photographers. At the same time, Luminar is fully integrated with Creative Kit apps, so you can easily export your photos directly from Luminar to any of the Creative Kit plug-ins.

  • Can I replace Aperture with Luminar?

Yes, if you’re talking about the photo editing part of Aperture app (or any other software). Luminar brings one of the industry’s best selection of photo tools to enhance images. At the same time Aperture (just like Lightroom) is often used as an Asset Management tool, and this is what Luminar is missing for now. So if you keep your files in the Aperture or Lightroom library, then use Luminar editor as the plug-in to get a myriad of new tools to edit, enhance and fix your photos. If you keep your photos elsewhere, and use Aperture (or Lightroom) to only edit photos, then give Luminar an even closer look and consider it as the replacement.

  • What is the difference between Aurora HDR and Luminar?

Aurora HDR is dedicated to only one photography style - HDR photography. And it is the world’s most advanced photo software for this kind of photography. Luminar is a universal photo editor, designed to perform a wide variety of image editing tasks. So if you want perfect HDR results, then nothing beats Aurora HDR. And if you want to get perfect portraits, landscapes, aerial photos and more - you should get Luminar for Mac.

  • Does it work as a plug-in?

Luminar works as the plug-in for Apple Aperture, Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop. It is also an Apple Photos extension for those of you who now use Photos to organize and manage photo assets. We don’t plan to make Luminar a plug-in to other software, besides those above. But we plan to allow other software work as Luminar plug-ins. Plus we are working on the browsing/management add-on to Luminar, so you can comfortably use it as the standalone software.

  • Can I use Luminar on multiple Macs?

Yes you can. Your license is valid on up to 5 Macs. Simply use the same email and activation code to register your software. Your license never expires and you can always contact Macphun to retrieve the lost license.
