In this Macphun original video, go beyond the dōjō with photographer and travel writer, Chris Wilson, as he tells the tale of the masters in Okinawa, Japan. Okinawa is the birthplace of karate and it’s one of the areas he has been photographing for the last four years. Chris discovered the need to capture the masters and has since shot 60 of them and created a self-published book called Karate Masters Portrait Project. In this video, he’ll talk of his lighting setup, equipment and the joy of preparation and planning in various shoots. He’ll also show you how to add a punch to the images in post-processing with Luminar.
